High power-density actuators

Sirius actuators are designed to deliver high torque, low weight, and cost efficiency, enabling robots to achieve greater payload capacity and superior dynamic performance. The Sirius series comprises five actuator models in various sizes, offering torque outputs ranging from 32 Nm to 360 Nm, with a maximum torque density of 280 Nm/kg. This broad range meets the diverse requirements of various robotic applications. With an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, a control frequency of up to 2000 Hz, and system latency as low as 1 ms, Sirius actuators are well-suited for a wide range of use cases, including legged robots, robotic arms, and wheeled platforms.

By jointly optimizing the planetary gear transmission and the motor’s electromagnetic system, Sirius actuators significantly reduce motor heating under equivalent working conditions, ensuring long-term operational reliability. Moreover, this comprehensive optimization results in exceptionally low rotational friction and outstanding back drivability, which together enhance the actuator’s responsiveness and control precision. These features are crucial for robots that require accurate and compliant interaction with their environment. To fully unleash the actuator’s capabilities, we have also developed a high-performance motor driver board that supports operating voltages up to 80V and wide voltage input, making it possible for robots to execute powerful and highly dynamic maneuvers.
